Ingredients
-
1 tube refrigerated pizza dough
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 cup refried beans (optional)
-
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)
-
1 packet taco seasoning mix
-
1/4 cup water
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Mexican cheese blend
-
1 cup diced tomatoes
-
1/2 cup sliced black olives
-
1/2 cup diced red onion
-
1 cup shredded lettuce
-
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
-
Sour cream, salsa, guacamole, jalapeño slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out pizza dough on a greased baking sheet or pizza pan and brush with olive oil. Pre-bake for 7–8 minutes until lightly golden.
-
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease, add taco seasoning and water, and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
-
Spread refried beans over the pre-baked crust. Evenly layer cooked taco meat on top.
-
Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the meat. Bake for another 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Let pizza cool slightly. Add fresh toppings: tomatoes, black olives, red onion, lettuce, and cilantro.
-
Slice into squares or wedges. Serve with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side.
Notes
-
Pre-bake dough to avoid a soggy crust.
-
Fresh toppings should be added after baking for the best texture.
-
For vegetarian version, use seasoned beans or plant-based meat.
-
Can be frozen without fresh toppings and baked later.
