Packed with seasoned ground beef, pepperoni, rich tomato sauce, and plenty of melted cheese, it’s a comforting baked dish that satisfies every pizza craving without the hassle of making dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 lb Italian sausage

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 package (12 oz) cooked pasta (penne or rotini works well)

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup diced green peppers (optional)

  • ½ cup sliced black olives (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, and onions over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.

  • Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to develop flavor.

  • In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Mix until pasta is fully coated.

  • Spread half of the pasta mixture in the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella, cheddar, pepperoni, Parmesan, green peppers, and black olives.

  • Repeat with the remaining pasta and toppings.

  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausage and add extra red pepper flakes.

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.

  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
