Creamy Parmesan chicken is a rich and savory dish featuring golden pan-seared chicken breasts smothered in a velvety Parmesan cream sauce. With hints of garlic, herbs, and a touch of butter, this comforting recipe is perfect for an easy yet impressive dinner. Serve it with pasta, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally to make 4 cutlets)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried thyme

  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Season the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour, shaking off any excess.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Pour in chicken broth and deglaze the pan by scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens.

  • Return the chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over it. Simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes to heat through.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
