Description

Creamy Cajun chicken is a bold and flavorful dish featuring tender, pan-seared chicken breasts coated in zesty Cajun spices, simmered in a rich, creamy sauce. With just the right amount of heat and a velvety texture, this dish is perfect served over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a comforting and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally to make 4 cutlets)

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (plus more to taste)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for added richness)

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)

  • Chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry, then season both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off any excess.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan (if using), and additional Cajun seasoning or paprika to taste. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 more minutes until heated through.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve hot.
