3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
-
3/4 cup milk
-
1/3 cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
-
Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion soup mix, eggs, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce if using. Mix gently until just combined.
-
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
-
Spread additional ketchup on top of the loaf, if desired, for a classic glaze.
-
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
-
Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
-
Serve warm with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, green beans, or a crisp salad.
Notes
-
For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken and add a tablespoon of olive oil to maintain moisture.
-
Swap breadcrumbs with oats or crushed crackers if preferred.
-
You can make the meatloaf ahead of time and refrigerate before baking, or freeze it for later use.
-
Leftovers make excellent meatloaf sandwiches the next day.
