Description

These classic beef tacos are a simple and satisfying weeknight favorite. Made with seasoned ground beef and topped with your favorite fixings, they deliver bold flavor and crave-worthy crunch in every bite. Perfect for taco night with the family or a casual gathering with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce or water

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 8 taco shells (hard or soft, your choice)

Suggested Toppings:

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

  • Sour cream

  • Sliced jalapeños

  • Chopped cilantro

  • Diced avocado or guacamole

  • Salsa or hot sauce

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. If your beef is very lean, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.

  • Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 6–8 minutes.

  • Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce or water. Let simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • While the beef simmers, warm taco shells according to package instructions.

  • Assemble tacos: spoon the beef into each shell and top with your favorite toppings.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy taco night!
