  • Yield: 1 (10–12 inch) pizza (serves 2–3) 1x

Description

Cheeseburger pizza is the ultimate mash-up of two comfort food favorites: a juicy cheeseburger and a cheesy, crispy pizza. Loaded with seasoned ground beef, melty cheddar and mozzarella, tangy pickles, onions, and a drizzle of burger sauce, this fun twist is perfect for family pizza night, game-day gatherings, or anytime you want something a little indulgent and different.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough (or use store-bought):

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Topping:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup dill pickles, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for crust)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lettuce, shredded (optional, for topping after baking)

For the Burger Sauce (optional drizzle):

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice

Instructions

  • Make the dough: In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil until dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

  • Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.

  • Preheat oven: If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven and preheat to 475°F (245°C). Otherwise, grease a pizza pan or baking sheet.

  • Shape the dough: Punch down dough and roll into a 12-inch circle. Place on parchment paper (for a stone) or directly onto pan. Brush crust edges with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

  • Assemble the pizza: Mix ketchup and mustard, then spread evenly over dough as the base. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar over the sauce. Add cooked beef and onions. Top with remaining cheese and pickles.

  • Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  • Finish and serve: Drizzle with burger sauce and top with shredded lettuce if desired. Slice and enjoy hot.

  • Prep Time: 1 hour 15 minutes (including dough rising)
  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
