Description

Cheddar Pizza is a bold, cheesy twist on classic pizza, featuring the rich sharpness of cheddar as the star ingredient. Whether paired with mozzarella for a gooey melt or used solo for a punch of flavor, this pizza is customizable, comforting, and perfect for anyone who loves that extra cheesy kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce (tomato-based or BBQ for a twist)

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella (optional for extra melt)

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Olive oil for brushing crust

  • Optional toppings: caramelized onions, bacon bits, sliced jalapeños, or tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.

  2. Prepare the dough: Roll or stretch your pizza dough into a 10–12 inch round on parchment paper or a floured surface.

  3. Assemble: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella, if using.

  4. Sprinkle with garlic powder and red pepper flakes.

  5. Bake: Transfer the pizza to the hot oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.

  6. Finish: Let cool for 2 minutes, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

Sharp white or yellow cheddar both work well here. For extra depth, mix in smoked cheddar or gouda. Pair this pizza with BBQ chicken or serve with a side salad for balance. Add a drizzle of hot honey or ranch for a fun flavor boost.
