Slow-cooked bourbon chicken with a sticky, sweet, and savory sauce. Tender, juicy chicken thighs simmered in a flavorful bourbon glaze that tastes just like takeout—only better.
Ingredients

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into chunks

½ cup bourbon whiskey

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup ketchup
-
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp grated ginger
-
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water (for slurry)

Garnish: green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions

Place chicken in crock pot.

In a bowl, mix bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes.

Pour sauce over chicken. Stir to coat.

Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3½ hours.

In last 30 minutes, stir in cornstarch slurry. Let sauce thicken.

Garnish and serve over rice or noodles.

Sub apple juice for bourbon for non-alcoholic version.
